Range of use

The RD545 water leakage detector is used to detect (test rod) and to measure

leakages (geophone) in water supply utilities. In combination with a transmitter,

such as the RD530, the RD545 can also trace the pipeline route underground.

Test rod

The test rod is highly sensitive and is designed to detect even minute leakages.

The flexible device is ideally suited to listen to valves and checking water

Meters.

Ground pick-up

The acoustically shielded ground pick-up is capable of pinpointing leakages.

It can be attached to a tripod magnetically, enabling the operator to carry out

measurements on soft or solid ground

Central unit

Six different analog filter options guarantee optimal suppression of any

unwanted noises. The RD545 locates leakages by comparing average-value

and minimum-value measurements. The PWG function allows the locating of

pipelines irrespective of the pipeline materials.

A large LCD shows the last 6 measurements graphically and numerically. The

unique Adjust function automatically optimizes the indication sensitivity of the

Test rod. The over-range protection feature prevents any hearing damage.

If the RD545 is idle for more than one minute, the device switches off

automatically. This feature prolongs the operating time of the geophone.

Under normal conditions, the batteries provide up to 10 weeks charge

before they must be replaced or recharged. An LED indicator provides clear

information about the condition of the rechargeable NiCAD batteries.
